Bernie
has always been a person that believes
in education and hard work. Dancing, to
him, was something that was alien and
uninteresting to him as a child to early
adult hood. However, he was amazed one
time when he accompanied a friend to "The
Sand Bar" in Jersey City, N.J. Ironically,
there was a big mambo event showing that
same night. After watching a friend, Louie,
dancing on the floor. It looked very inviting
to him, and interesting. That evening,
made him more curious about dancing.
The
following week, Bernie heard of someone
teaching at a Boys and Girls Club in Hoboken.
He decided to attend the class, but to
his reluctantance he found it to be very
boring and frustrating to him because
of all of the techniques and timing required.
Nevertheless, he continue to attend the
classes and figured something will happen.
Bernie moved up to the level very slowly,
because he felt is was something that
required patience and concentration. It
became more relaxing and enjoyable, compared
to his daily activities from college and
work.
As
Bernie moved higher in the ranks in Mario's
classes. Bernie began to attend other
schools to further his knowledge. The
instructros had different methods and
styles, which was very enlighten because
it kept Bernie excited and wanting to
learn more. However, Bernie continue attending
Mario's classes, and slowly began contributing
to Mario such as assistanting him in classes
and teaching when he was away. Then, Mario
B. created the team "Plan B",
which Bernie is one of its first members,
and started training very hard and finally
performing. It was a big step for Bernie
to perform, but Bernie has kept the idea
of slow and steady.
While
Bernie was still a student to Mario B.,
he started and maintained Mario B. website
- "www.salsafeveron2.com", with
the help of the company of www.tonestone.com.
Then, finally, creating the company "Salsa
Fever On2 Dance Academy." Bernie
continues to work with Mario B. as assistant
director to the website and the dance
company. Bernie has thought all his work
is a thank you to Mario B. for showing
how to dance and enjoy life differently
than he would ever have imagine. THANK
YOU, MARIO B.
